Extraterrestrial Impacts - Visualized Meteorite Impacts

The data set was provided by The Meteoritical Society, an organization that has been documenting meteorites since 1933. The data set contained the name of each meteorite, the weight and the year when it fell or was found as well as its coordinates. The amount of registered meteorites was very few before 1974. The reason for the increase was that during this time scientists started to discover meteorites in the deserts of the Earth which eventually led to more meteorites being registered.

Series of new images representing all the geotagged messages since 2009 in different cities and regions of the globe.

Each dot in the maps represent one geotagged tweet and the color is the Tweet count. Interesting patterns emerge from aggregated Tweets over time and created a new layer of information about regional activities and inner-city activities.

Urban Explorer Table 2 - Visualization for city planning

Urban Explorer Table 2 was developed by Interactive Institute Swedish ICT together with the city planning office of Norrköping in Sweden in close collaboration with Visualisation Centre C, Hyresbostäder in Norrköping and City Planning Office of Gothenburg.

"In the Urban Explorer project, we combine the world highest quality 3D maps with leading edge hardware, add data sources straight from research and create prototypes using natural interfaces. Then, we place it right in front of the actual stakeholders for testing out it's worth in real scenarios."

Rain Room by rAndom International

The Rain Room by rAndom International is an interactive installation which is also part of the EXPO 1: New York exhibition. The Rain Room is a 100 square metre field of falling water that visitors may walk through and experience how it might feel to control the rain. 10 people can be tracked by the system and everywhere they go, the rain will stop. You can visit the Rain Room at the MoMA in NYC till July 28th.
