Despite improvements over the past few decades, our region’s air still ranks among the worst in the nation, exacerbating asthma and causing other serious health problems in our communities such as higher rates of heart disease and lung cancer. Summer of Code results for 2012: Drupal gets 13 projects

"We are thrilled to announce that Google will be sponsoring 13 Drupal projects for Summer of Code 2012. We would like to extend our sincere thanks to Google, who are investing over $72,000 in the Drupal project. ... "Designers at Salesforce.com have built an infographic monitoring social media conversations relating to the London mayoral elections. The visualisation shows the number of messages mentioning each candidate over 30 days and 24 hours. Data is provided by Radian 6. At the time of writing, Boris Johnson leads with 57% of conversations over the last day, while Ken Livingstone has 39%. Brian Paddick, Jenny Jones and Siobhan Benita take around 1% each.
